FAQs

Players will meet at a pre-determined time and place. Once the timer starts, players have 24 hours to get as far away from that location as possible. The winning team makes it the furthest as the crow flies. The only rule is that you cannot use any money or connections you had before the game started. Then you make your own way home!

I'm a big believer that life is best on the edge of your comfort zone. Jailbreak is a chance to travel in a unique and thrilling way, and make memories that will never leave you.

Short answer - no. The long answer is that it depends what you do, but there will probably be high-risk activities involved. Interacting with - and placing trust in - strangers is what makes jailbreak exciting, but it's inherently risky as well. To mitigate risk, you should: share your live location with friends, take pictures of the registration number of any vehicle you get into, frequently update your socials, and make sure you don't run out of battery! Ultimately, however, you participate at your own risk.

... get a lift off my mate? pre-book a flight? use my car? The answer to these sorts of questions is usually no. But they also miss the point. The idea of jailbreak is adventure - trying to find loopholes in the rules is pointless as you'll only be cheating yourself. The 'no use of any money or existing connections' rule is the best catch-all I can think of to avoid such loopholes, but won't catch everything. Be inventive!

I do not condone breaking the law when playing jailbreak, and I am not responsible for the actions of any players.

Not yet, but I would be interested in this in the future.

No, this concept has been done successfully before by UAE Medsoc, and potentially others. In terms of my inspiration for adventure and 'creative travel', that mostly comes from Tom/Geowizard on Youtube - he's inspired previous trips of mine, and has inspired me to make this a reality as well.
